Our friends the Tingeys were in Texas for Christmas and stopped by Allen's apartment to drop off some groceries. They didn't expect to see him, but he and his companions were there having a late lunch!

Thanks for all the Christmas pictures Mom! Sounds like y'all had a great time! It was awesome to be able to talk to you!
This was a great week! I'm learning a lot about how my companions work and how they teach, so we're definitely growing closer together. Elder Western is leaving us this Sunday evening to Mexico! We're sad to see Elder Western leaving, but excited for all of the opportunities he'll have in Mexico!
This week we were blessed to be able to visit with Omar and Veronica twice. Veronica and their two kids agreed to be baptized on the 10th of February, but Omar doesn't seem as gung-ho so right now we're focusing more on him and what he needs. He does want to come to church and he does want to do the right things, but there seems to be something holding him back, so we're going to get that figured out. They are an awesome family with tons of kids! Veronica is super good at feeling and recognizing the Spirit!
Also, Juan is super excited to get baptized on the 10th of February too!!! He knows the church is true and says he loves it so much because it's the only church whose teachings seem real to him! He hasn't even come to church and he already calls himself a Mormon!!
The area is doing awesome, and I'm really grateful for my companions! Elder Long is a great District Leader! So far I've been really blessed to have two really great District Leaders as companions! Elder Western is a fantastic missionary too! Elder Long and I always seem to forget he is a new missionary because he already knows all of the things we do as missionaries and he is a great teacher!
I still love being here in Lewisville! The Lord is making great things happen here, and I am super grateful to be able to witness it all!!!
This morning we went to the temple, and it was so refreshing!! I learned so much! I love being able to worship the Lord and feel the Spirit so strongly! This month in District meetings I learned a lot about prayer, and I learned a lot about prayer in the Endowment session today, and I felt the Spirit really close to me as I prayed in the temple afterwards! Hopefully this will help me be able to communicate the importance of prayer to investigators, and also to convert these experiences into moments that the Spirit can testify to them about the power of prayer.
On Christmas we talked to a bunch of people! We tried to visit all of our investigators because the mayoria (the bigger part? Majority?) of them were at home. Another funny thing: right after Elder Western got off the phone with his parents the rain that was falling started turning into snow!!! We were trying to get a picture of just one flake, but then it ended up becoming an entire storm!!! I definitely wasn't expecting that here, but I guess it's pretty normal in Lewisville! I'll be sure to send y'all some pictures later on today.
My new word from this week is "pirata." We were talking about how in Tijuana they have really fancy-looking stuff for dirt-cheap, and the member we were eating with told us it was because they were "piratado". Now every time there is something that looks nice, we just write it off as piratado. Spanish is a fun language to learn, that's for sure!!
Anyways, I love you all so much!!! The Church is true, and Cristo es nuestro Salvador! The Plan of Salvation is the only way to become any thing better than the natural man! I love you all!!!
God Bless Texas! I am Elder Black. Thus I end mine epistle.
