Continue in the Faith!

This is Allen's response to a letter from his dad.

You know what? I think you hit the nail on the head with the "All's well" thing. Everyone is afflicted by the same thing!! Last night we talked to a guy, and before we even said anything, he said "soy catholico. soy catholico, soy catholico, y soy catholico!!" And the white people are too!!! I've been on exchanges with a few of the English-speaking companions and it's amazing how complacent some people are!!!!! It really makes me want to follow King Benjamin's advice and watch myself, and my thoughts and my words and my deeds and CONTINUE IN THE FAITH!!!!!!!! We've got to keep increasing in our faith!!! We can't ever grow complacent with the spot we've attained! Just like Alma said: if we have felt Christ's redeeming love, can we feel so now?? This last conference was a really great reminder to me of my need to make sure I'm always repenting, always trying to do my best to give my will to the Lord to serve his childrent the best that I can!!!! In his closing remarks, President Monson commented on the ways he studies the talks from Conference and how we should study them too. I never realized that EVERYONE needs to be nourished by the Word of God!!!!! Even the Prophet can learn from the inspired words of ANYONE, really!!! I really hope that I never grow complacent like this and that the members of our rama (branch) are always continuing in the faith.

It is definitely different living here in Texas surrounded by non-Mormons. But living here and being here as a missionary are two different worlds!! (As you already know.) It's not too hard to be surrounded by people that aren't members of the church. It's easier for me to tell out here that the field is white!!! There are sooo many people that can live happier lives and grow to know their Savior!!! I'm grateful that there are so many non-Mormons out here, because there's always someone that hasn't heard the Gospel message before!!! There's always that hope that the next person you talk to will be interested in the joyous message we share!!!!!!

God Bless Texas!

I am Elder Black. Thus I end mine epistle.
